Follow the Star

Our live nativity was held on Sunday 10th December 2023 at 3.30pm. Despite uncertainty with the weather, this was attended by approximately 100 people from the local community. The children enjoyed the Christmas Story and meeting the real donkey. Refreshments and fellowship were then shared in the Church.

Community Christmas Bazaar

Our Christmas Bazaar on 2nd December 2023 was supported and enjoyed by the church and community. Father Christmas came along and after opening the event he returned to his grotto to see individual children and give out presents. There were a number of stalls with gifts, toys and cakes on offer for people to browse and buy. The raffle and hamper raffle sold a lot of tickets. All who attended enjoyed the food – hot dogs, burgers and savoury rolls and were able to share fellowship over a meal. In excess of £500 was raised and a good time was had by all.

Thanks to all who helped with setting up and clearing away, and helping in other way.

St Elizabeth Hospice Choir

We hosted St Elizabeth Hospice Choir on Saturday 25th November 2023 and were treated to a wonderful evening of songs, solos, instrumentals and piano accompaniments all expertly performed. The evening raised £450 for the Hospice.

Community Summer Fete

Our Community Summer Fete was held on Saturday 8th July 2023 in very warm sunshine. We were supported by our friends and neighbours, young and not so young from the local community. Carl entertained us with several popular songs, excellent guitar accompaniment and even a kazoo solo. Rev Saul followed with uplifting praise sung in his native Zimbabwe dialect and some impressive dance moves. Many thanks to stall holders for your support and to all who helped set up and clear away. Many hands certainly did make light work.

Church Camp

We had a very enjoyable and positive Church Camp last weekend 26th to 29th May. A big thank you to everyone who came along and made the weekend go so well. We had all ages joining in together – range 1 year to 80+ years with lots in the middle, including 15 teenagers. A good time was had by all. Derek and Karen visited on Saturday and Rev Andrew and Rev Saul came and spoke at our Service on Sunday evening. We explored the theme ‘Let your Light Shine’, during our time together. Thank you too, to everyone who helped us financially by supporting our fundraising and by making donations to the cause.
